New Church Go-Ahead for Cooley Despite Local Objections
A NEW CATHOLIC church has been given the go-ahead for Cooley by Louth planning chiefs. The shock move has stunned local Muslims, who have been campaigning to have approval for their first mosque in County Louth. Speaking to Louth Noises News, local Muslim, Thomas O’Brien, expressed his anger by tearing up the council’s logo.
“This is an outrage. There’s already a perfectly good church in Boher, another one in Mullaghbuoy and the one here in Grange – that’s three no more than a few miles apart. It’s just crazy.
“If this continues there’ll be Angelus bells morning, noon and night – from every direction. Is it any wonder me and the wife’s angry”, he added.
