“Giant” Denis O’Brien Posters Discovered in Dublin Airport Hanger
POSTERS OF BUSINESSMAN Denis O’Brien, measuring up to 300 feet in height, have been discovered in an unused hanger at Dublin airport.
The discovery was made by ground foreman Jimmy Madden, from Coolock, who’s been working at the site for over 15 years.
“We hardly ever go in there, but yesterday the gaffer asked a few of us to clear out Shed 7 for a repaint. And there I seen them, big as you like all stacked against the west wall”, he said.
“I’ve no idea what they’re for, maybe it’s election stuff, but sure you’d need some class of a pole for them and then how would you secure them- they don’t make cable ties that big, do they?”, he added.
The disused hanger is understood to be owned by the aviation tycoons the McEvaddy brothers. Both have long-standing connections to the Fine Gael party.
A spokesperson for Denis O’Brien denied that the telecoms magnate, and media mogul, had any knowledge, hand , act or part in the over-size posters or their location. He said that their proximity to the McEvaddy’s property was purely co-incidental, at best.
“This is an obvious attempt to blacken Mr O’Brien’s good name and reputation by a person or persons unknown. Denis is already a giant of a man, and does not need to big himself up”, he added.
