IRELAND HAS WON the lion’s share of inbound migrants following a meeting of EU leaders in Luxembourg.  Irish officials stood fast against EU insistence for equal burden sharing by demanding that Ireland be treated as a special case.  Taoiseach Enda Kenny argued that Ireland has the lowest population density in EU and has thousands of empty houses all over the country just waiting to be filled.

Speaking after the historic agreement, Taoiseach Enda Kenny, spoke to Louth Noises News.

“After some very tough negotiations, I am satisfied that we have a fantastic deal. They wanted to give us much much less, but I secured more. It’s Fine Gael’s way, not Frankfurt’s way this time,” he said.
