A MAN WITH nine hundred and ninety nine convictions walked free from Ardee courthouse today.

Judge Callum O’Laughlin refused to jail Arthur Kearns (23) of no fixed abode, who was facing charges for theft at a sitting of Ardee District Court in county Louth.

“There is just no way I’m jailing you today. I’m not going to be the judge that gave this man his one thousandth conviction. It’s just one too many”, the Judge said.
