BANK CHIEFS AT Ireland’s pillar banks are set for windfall payments to offset injuries caused by public odium. It’s understood that morale at senior levels at Ireland’s two main banks is only at 86% of where it was during the boom. According to a specialist financial services psychologist, without intervention, Ireland’s banking kingpins are in immediate danger of slipping down the rankings the Times 2016 billionaires rich list.

“Such is the pressure to perform at this level that even a slight drop in income can start a spiral of depression that could rock the foundations of the state”,  he said.

“And though money alone can never truly compensate our masters of capital, it’s a good start. It will go some way to balance the opprobrium that’s been left at their door. But more than that, they crave recognition of their sterling efforts in all that they’ve done to move billions out of the hands of ordinary people and into the hands of the elite and their European masters”, he added.

Senior managers at AIB and Bank of Ireland will be awarded up to €750,000 each following late night negotiations with central bank mandarins, the Irish Minister for Finance and the Irish Minister for Expenditure and Public Reform.
