POLITICAL CORRECTNESS HAS been officially classified as a mental disability. In her keynote address to the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ International Congress in Birmingham, England, Professor Gayle Robuck-Jones named the newly classified illness as a “Politically Correct Disorder”.

Professor Robuck-Jones further defined it as “the compulsive need to be morally superior, regardless of point of view or the reality of the situation, policy, circumstances or people involved”.

It is understood that the classification follows recent findings from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, where researchers found that there was ample evidence that a significant portion of the population in the developed world suffered from the debilitating condition.

Asked about treatment, Professor Robuck-Jones said that there were no simple solutions to complex problems, nor complex solutions to simple problems.

“But if diagnosed early enough, cognitive therapy has a place. Beyond that, patients might respond to a range of euthenasiastic treatments”, she said.
