US Presidential Knickers Heading for Louth County Museum

A SELECTION OF under garments, once in the possession of former US presidents, is to be exhibited in a collection at Louth County Museum. The collection of 72 pairs of assorted ladies knickers are thought to have been donated by the former presidents’ wives.

Ahead of the opening, Museum Assistant Curator, Eamon Giles, enthused about the collection.

“If you like knickers and that, holy god we’ve got a show for you.  You wouldn’t believe some of the yokes they wore. It’s a kind a magic so it is.”

The unique collection is expected to attract a mixed  crowd when the exhibition opens in mid December.
